With a mission to help teams use open source in a secure and effective way, and backed by the best team and group of superstar investors, we’re excited to embark on this journey
Oligo aims to streamline the usage of open source by making it secure and easy to protect. By focusing developers on the most relevant vulnerabilities we make the fixing process significantly shorter.
Our ability to precisely enforce the permissions of each library ensures a safe way to use open source software.
Before we founded Oligo, we studied Computational Neuroscience together. We were fascinated by how neurons work in parallel, without interrupting each other’s activity.
This collaboration is achieved thanks to the critical protection layer that wraps each neuron. The cell that creates the protection layer is called Oligodendrocyte, or in short, “Oligo״.
And what Oligo does for the brain is exactly what we do for open source libraries - we enable the usage of open source packages in an efficient and precise way, making sure that each package does exactly what it was intended to do.
Ultimately, businesses live and die based on the resiliency of their production environments. But historically, security for these runtime environments created significant trade-offs for engineering and security teams to consider. Oligo’s breakthrough approach is the first to offer true runtime security and observability for all production stakeholders without any compromises
Enterprises across all industries, including the major commercial software providers, have embraced open source development. This creates a significant market opportunity for a fast and effective open source security solution. We think Oligo’s unique approach, which combines precision and accuracy with minimal overhead, is what the market is looking for. We are impressed with the speed at which this team is moving to get this solution enterprise ready
The way in which open source is secured today must undergo a change. The existing solutions are not applicable at all because the amount of alerts is unreasonable and does not allow companies to deal with them, which leaves organizations defenseless. Oligo's approach is revolutionary by allowing companies to manage its fixing process in a practical and focused way, and therefore to be truly protected
